The Immaculate Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary

Immaculate Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary

By Dominic Pavan

The Immaculate Conception, according to the teaching of the Catholic Church, is the conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary free from original sin by virtue of the foreseen merits of her son Jesus Christ, Many people mistakenly believe that the Immaculate Conception refers to the conception of Jesus Christ. Jesus' conception was most assuredly immaculate being the son of God, he is born without blemish, but is his mother free from sin? The answer is yes
I have seen a greater part of the laity are ignorant of the church's teachings on the Immaculate conception of blessed virgin Mary,
I have often heard often heard arguments by the Fundamentalists their chief reason for objecting to the Immaculate Conception and Mary's consequent sinlessness is that we that the scripture says that "all have sinned" (Rom. 3:23) in this article I wish to speak about the teachings held by the church on the Immaculate conception

Down the ages people always believed the Blessed Virgin to be conceived without sin
Around the middle nineteenth century, with the intention of accepting this request, Pope Pius IX, after consulting the theologians, questioned the Bishops about the opportuneness and the possibility of such a definition, convoking as it were a "council in writing". The result was significant: the vast majority of the 604 Bishops gave a positive response to the question. Words of the Holy Father (Pope Pius IX, Ineffabilis Deus, December 1854).
"The blessed Virgin Mary to have been, from the first instant of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of Almighty God, in view of the merits of Christ Jesus the Savior of Mankind, preserved free from all stain of original sin" Pius IX solemnly proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception:
And Lo the Apparations of Our Lady began in Lourdes to a little girl named Bernadette Soubirous now a saint, Our Lady revealed "I am the Immaculate Conception," St,Bernadette even did not know how to pronounce the name Immaculate conception, She was not able to even remember the apostles creed, God chooses the humble to know more about St. Bernadette, please watch the movie '' Song of Bernadette '' this movie received a Golden globe award, she is an incorruptible saint, she looks as if she is only sleeping. The undeniably beautiful 130-year-old body of Bernadette Soubirous is displayed in a purpose-built crystal coffin, housed in a chapel at the abbey where she served as a nun. Her uncannily lifelike visage, clad in nun's robes, is one of the most commonly used illustrations of incorruptible saints whose bodies never decay. After her death, she was exhumed no less than three times and found to be perfectly intact .

St. Paul tells us
1 Corinthians 1:27 ?

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
And I remember the words of the gospel
Mark 16:20 ?
Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it

We all are stamped with sin as the psalmist says I was conceived in iniquities and in sins did my mother conceive me, But Mary is Immaculate, she was clothed with the sun of grace, the men of this changeable world at her feet, and on her brow a crown of twelve stars
What the Apostle says applies to Mary Ephesians 1:11

Ephesians 1:11
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.

So Mary remains unsullied by personal sin, St. Anselmn praises the virgin '' Because through the blessings she got from God, the whole nature is blessed, God gave his son to Mary, and though her and made his son common to him and to Mary ''.

Christ could not sin, because he is God. Mary was preserved from sin by the supernatural grace of God, The archangel calls Mary '' Full of grace '' that leaves no room for sin. Blessed among woman - high above all others of her sex, for they were subject to the law of sin, the Lord is with thee - where God took up his abode, Satan must not previously have been master, if there are any fundamentalists reading this, please think how can God allow a woman with sin to be the mother of his son, he wanted everything to be pure, for Yahweh is a holy God. The ark of the covenant was covered with pure gold and Mary is the new ark of the covenant she bore the word made flesh Logos, the early fathers used the word Theotokos, which means ''Mother of God " or God bearer and usual Latin translations, Dei Genetrix or Deipara.
Esther 15:13
Thou shalt not die: for this law is not made for thee, but for all others.
Just as God preserved her from original sin, so he vouchsafed her the '' Donum intergratitis '' she was also free from concupiscence, in the practices of the mother of God. For those who do not understand the word
Concupiscence as it's not used in the modern English it means sexual desire, I discovered this word when I was reading a book on St. Anthony of the desert the father of monasticism, he suffered with concupiscence being a normal human, whereas the Mother of God was predestined in God's mind, before the world with its fountains, hills came into existence

I would like to conclude this article with the promise given by God which was fulfilled Genesis 3:15 is commonly called the "Protevangelium" — a term that essentially signifies the idea of "first gospel proclamation."

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
"And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your descendants and hers Descendant. He will crush your head, and you will bruise His heel."

The verse truly is fascinating, providing the very first biblical glimpse of God's plan of redemption, focusing ultimately upon the final thrusting of Satan into the eternal hell of fire (Rev. 20:10).
The woman is none other the most holy immaculate Mary, pray for us, oh mother of God, that we may know more mysteries of our faith, Amen.
